In a massive global win for India, foreign countries and social media giant YouTube has clamped down on anti-India proxies just ahead of Republic Day. The Government of India now hopes that the accounts banned on January 20 will have a similar fate.

Almost a month later, the Government of India, through Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, banned 20 YouTube channels and 2 websites on December 21. YouTube has now banned 19 of these channels globally and further taken steps against websites which were propagating fake news.

Also, fearing action in the global arena, many other YouTube channels also started taking down anti-India propaganda videos. Reportedly, I&B Ministry is further in touch with social media giants, and more YouTube channels could be banned in upcoming days.

3 dozen YouTube channels operating from Pakistan are under active monitoring and analysis. Some of the videos posted by these YouTube channels were also recorded for further action. However, it has been observed that after the recent termination of 20 YouTube channels, these channels have removed fake anti-India content on their own.
