Aero India Air Show to Begin from Today

The 13th edition of the Aero India international air show which is being organized by the Defense Research and Developmental Organization aka the DRDO is going to begin today at the Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bangalore.

During this event, Rajnath Singh who is the Defense Minister will be releasing the export compendium which is a new Procedure for Design, Development and the Production of Military Aircraft and Airborne Stores aka the DDPMAS documents, along with a few other documents.

According to a statement, the DRDO will be showing the latest defense technologies and will demonstrate many new systems related to that. One of their main attractions will be the flying displays of the Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems aka the AEW&C and the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas aka the LCA Tejas along with the LCA Navy. At the biennial event, more than 300 products, innovations and technologies will be shown in indoor, outdoor and flying displays.

This event takes place every 2 years and is a platform for aerospace enthusiasts, defense industries, and several stakeholders to participate and be witness to the progress in global defense and aerospace prospects and gives a chance to interact with industries from all over the world.

Due to the pandemic, multi media based presentations; product and tech-based brochures are being given digitally for downloading based on QR codes. DRDO has planned an event of indigenous defense technologies / systems in an attempt to incorporate stakeholders of the defense systems progress of India. Almost 30 first-time models are going to be on display here.

On Tuesday, Defence Minister had inaugurated Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's aka HAL second Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) production line in Bangalore, and said that India cannot remain dependent on other countries for defending their borders. "We cannot remain dependent on other countries for the defence of our country," said Singh say HAL will get new orders in future.
