The monsoon session of the parliament has begun from yesterday and the after effects of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death can be seen here as well. While on the first day the arrests made by Narcotics Control Bureau were applauded by actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan, today, Jaya Bachchan stood up to defend the entertainment industry.

On day one of the monsoon session of the Parliament MP Ravi Kishan talked about drug trafficking, youth and Bollywood. He said, “Conspiracy is being hatched to destroy country's youth, our neighboring countries are contributing, smuggling of drugs from Pakistan and China is done every year... It is brought via Punjab and Nepal.”

Talking about B-town’s connection with drug addiction BJP MP further stated that, “Several people have been apprehended, NCB is doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action, apprehend the culprits soon, give them befitting punishment and bring an end to conspiracy of neighboring countries.”

These statement rose a few eyebrows but it was yester year actress and Samajwadi Party’s MP Jaya Bachchan who slammed Ravi Kishan for his words. She said, “People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language. Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry...”

Talking about Ravi Kishan’s statement she said, “I was really embarrassed and ashamed that yesterday one our members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry, spoke against the film industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain.”

Pointing out the importance of film industry, she further stated that, “The entertainment industry in our country provides direct employment every day to five lakh people and indirect employment to five million people. At a time when the financial situation is in a depressing state and employment is at the worst level, in order to divert the attention of the people, we are being used to be flogged by social media and the government's non-support.”

All these comments come in the midst of the investigations on actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case and the arrests made by NCB regarding the drug angle of the same. Being silent since the very beginning of Sushant Singh Rajput’s case b-town has started buzzing since the arrest of Rhea Chakraborty and her allegedly giving a long list of names to c.

It would be interesting to see who NCB summons for questioning next as the it has been confirmed that the list given by Rhea Chakraborty does contain the names of B-town celebs.
