Antilia just turned Ganesh Chaturthi into the biggest festive fashion drop of 2026.
On September 13, the Ambanis welcomed Antilia Cha Raja a day before official Ganesh Chaturthi (September 14), and Mumbai’s 27-storey fortress lit up like a temple that also happens to have a guest list. Marigold canopies, cascading warm lights, brass lamps, jasmine strings, golden backdrops, even a corner with white-leaf trees and laddoos — devotion with production value.
Nita Ambani and Radhika Merchant led the aagaman with dhol, petals, and full festive energy. Then Radhika did what only she could: a Bharatanatyam tribute to Ekadantaya Vakratundaya, choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant. Classical technique, temple lighting, a jewel-toned embroidered look, matha patti, gajra — heritage, but make it main-character.
That’s the whole mood of this year’s Antilia Ganpati: tradition that doesn’t whisper. It poses.
Nita Ambani arrived in a dual-tone silk saree — orange melting into fuchsia and magenta — with a statement neckpiece that basically was the blouse. Gold potli, stacked bangles, red bindi, braid. Regal without trying to go viral. It went viral anyway.

Radhika switched between a richly embroidered orange festive set and a jewel-pink Kanjeevaram with gold zari and marodi work. Shloka Mehta Ambani went sun-orange bandhani. The family colour story was saffron, magenta, gold — festival codes, not costume.
This year the arrivals read like a coordinated campaign for “ethnic but not your auntie’s ethnic.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan & Saif Ali Khan
Kareena in a mustard-yellow Anamika Khanna Anarkali with a broad gold zari border and pearls. Saif in a vivid crimson kurta and white dhoti. Taimur and Jeh in blue-and-white traditional fits. Colour-blocked family, zero chaos. That yellow is already the look people will copy for Navratri afterparties.
Katrina Kaif & Vicky Kaushal
Katrina in an olive-green flared Anarkali, dupatta loaded with Rajasthani mirror work, thread embroidery and tassels. New-mum glow, sleek hair, no over-styling. Vicky in ivory chikankari / sequinned white kurta-pyjama. Soft contrast, very “we came to pray and also look expensive.”
Kiara Advani & Sidharth Malhotra
Kiara in blush-pink Chanderi / pastel pink saree and an emerald-diamond choker. Sid in an ivory floral-threadwork kurta. Quiet luxury festive — the kind that photographs clean on a phone.
Karisma Kapoor went full silk maximalist: pink-orange plaid silk saree, V-neck three-quarter blouse, metallic clutch. Rekha, Janhvi, Ananya, Khushi, Shanaya, Kriti, Kajol with her kids — the Kapoor-adjacent and next-gen bench showed up like it was a family group chat that escaped into real life.
Salman Khan kept it almost anti-look: blue shirt, denims, easy walk-in. Ranveer Singh went solo in all-white Nehru jacket energy. Shah Rukh Khan skipped the paparazzi scrum, slipped inside in understated white, and later surfaced in an inside frame with Nita and Mukesh. Different fame languages, same living room.
Also in the mix: Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal, Riteish-Genelia, Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Sanjay Dutt, Anil and Arjun Kapoor, Jackie and Ayesha Shroff, Disha Patani, plus cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh. It wasn’t just Bollywood. It was Mumbai power in festive clothes.
Because of course it was. Guests walked into Anaar Panna, Aam Panna and lassi, then a spread that jumped regions: Maharashtrian misal pav, kothambir vadi, batata vada; Gujarati methi dhokla, khichu, patti samosa; South Indian podi idli; chaat and Indo-Chinese on the side. Devotion, then a buffet that refuses to pick one state.
Antilia’s Ganpati is not “old money does festival.” It’s the annual proof that Indian festive fashion still runs the algorithm.
Sarees, Anarkalis, kurtas, dhotis, Kanjeevaram, chikankari, bandhani, Patola energy, zari, mirror work — none of it felt costume. The twist was in the cuts: corset blouses, clean Anarkalis, colour-blocked couples, jewellery that hits like armour. Heritage textile + contemporary silhouette is the actual trend. Not “fusion for the sake of it.” Just knowing how to wear your own culture at full volume.
The festival itself is still on. Visarjan lands around September 24–25. Until then, the looks keep circulating — saved folders, reel audio, “link the Anarkali,” the usual. Ganpati Bappa Morya, and also: the mustard yellow is going to haunt shopping searches till Diwali.
