Lakmé Fashion Week Is Back in Delhi This October

Delhi is about to get very stylish. Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India returns to the capital from 13 to 18 October 2026. It is presented by the House of Lakmē and FDCI along with Reliance Brands and this time the focus is on the people and ideas pushing fashion ahead.
The six day event will be held at Taj Palace in New Delhi. It comes after the March edition in Mumbai and keeps up the twice a year pattern the fashion week has followed since 2000. The Delhi edition usually leans towards festive dressing and that fits well with the wedding and celebration season just around the corner.
Sustainability is a big part of the plan. The finale of the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge in partnership with the UN in India will take place at the Embassy of France in Delhi on 13 October. It shows how much Indian fashion is now thinking about reuse and responsible making. In a week that celebrates craft and couture that matters as much as the clothes themselves.
New talent gets its own stage too. The 12th edition of The Spotlight presented by Maruti Suzuki NEXA will put young designers on the runway with fresh ideas and their own voices. Platforms like this give small labels a real chance to be seen by buyers and fans who might take years to find them otherwise.
The opening show is already one of the most talked about events of the season. The full list of designers and showstoppers is still to come but past editions have mixed traditional craft with bold modern design and there is every reason to expect the same here.
FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi said Delhi has always been at the heart of Indian fashion with its craft and couture and textiles. He called this edition a mirror of how strong Indian fashion is today and how much room there is to grow.
When the lights go up on 13 October the week will be part runway and part marketplace and part big conversation about where Indian fashion goes next. Whether you follow fashion closely or just enjoy a good show Delhi is the place to watch for the next six days.
