Lashkar-E-Taiba Commander killed in encounter in J&K

A joint operation was launched at Check Sadiq Khan area in Shopian in J&K, after the security forces received a tip-off about some terrorists being present there.
  
A top commander of Lashkar-E-Taiba who left Jammu & Kashmir Police almost 4 years ago was one among the two terrorists who were killed in an overnight encounter in southern Kashmir’s Shopian area, said the police. Two other local terrorists who were killed in Srinagar 2 days ago in another operation like this one.
  
The Kashmir Chief Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar, said that, Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was one of the top LeT terrorists who were active in the area since 2017. He was neutralised in a joint operation carried out by police & Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
  
The joint operation was launched at Check Sadiq Khan area in Shopian in J&K, after the security forces received a tip-off about some terrorists being present there. Soon, it turned into an encounter and 2 terrorists were killed. A police officer informed that the said operation is still in progress.
  
Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was an ex-cop in Jammu and Kashmir but deserted the position in 2017. IG Kumar informed that 78 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir since January of this year.
  
On Friday, 2 terrorists who were supposedly involved in the killings of cops and civilians in Srinagar have been neutralised by the security forces at Alamdar Colony, Danmar in Srinagar.
