Medical Body: 624 Doctors Died Due To COVID-19 In Second Wave

The maximum number of deaths that Delhi witnessed was 109, which was followed by Bihar at 96, Uttar Pradesh with 79, Rajasthan 43, Jharkhand 39, Andhra Pradesh 34, Telangana 32, Gujarat 31 & West Bengal 30.
 
624 doctors in total have lost lives due to COVID-19 in this current second wave, with Delhi recording the maximum number of 109 fatalities, said the Indian Medical Association's / IMA. The IMA also said that a total of 748 doctors had died in the first wave of the pandemic.

This was according to the data until the 2nd of June compiled at the registry of Covid-19 at IMA.
 
Meanwhile on Thursday, the 3rd of June, India recorded 1,34,154 new cases of Covid-19 within a span of 24 hours, taking the country's count of the virus to 2,84,41,986.
 
India's active cases have further dropped to 17,13,413. Moreover, 2,11,499 Covid patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours, taking the total amount of recoveries to 2,63,90,584. The recovery rate is now at 92.48%.
