There’s been no slack in the second COVID-19 wave in India. Amidst the rising number of Corona virus cases & the mortality rate in India, precautions, pre-screening, and safeguards are the current need of the hour.

Bengaluru-based HealthCube which is a point-of-care technology-enabled diagnostics services provider has launched CovidSafe which is a COVID-19 risk management solution.

HealthCube, diagnostics solution provider & has been founded by Ramanan Laxminarayan. It also launched COVIDSAFE which is a holistic Covid-19 risk management solution. It has aided workplaces, healthcare providers & governments to prevent transmission by regular, repeated screening, when the first wave hit. According to Dr. Laxminarayan, AgeWell is a device which can take every vital of a patient including oxygen, temp, BP and pulse and flash it on a dashboard when a doctor is tending to various patients simultaneously.

Dr. Laxminarayan stated they wanted to build a solution particularly to assess risk of infection amongst individuals. The solution was mainly aiming organisations to help them identify employees who could potentially be at a high risk of infection. It can assess the severity of the infection to identify individuals who might be in need of early hospitalisation, and prioritises these for RTPCR tests.

HealthCube, which was founded in 2015, wants to make the process of diagnosis simple & completely hassle-free. HealthCube comes with a portable diagnosis machine, which is about as big as a set-up box. According to Dr. Ramanan, the device offers over 30 for tracking several parameters such as vitals, biochemistry, infectious diseases, and cardiac markers. He also says the collected data could be viewed with a mobile app, can be shared with doctors to take informed decisions.

Detecting people at higher risk –

According to Dr. Ramanan, the diagnostic solution enables people to regularly take the common tests such as D-dimer, CRP, antibody tests, BP, and pulse oxymetry, etc. It will also help users identify early symptoms of Covid and will enable them to connect with doctors for consultation.

The founder has said that the COVID-19 solution has been already installed by companies like Tech Mahindra, Club Mahindra, Tagros Chemicals, NICSI, and Jubilant FoodWorks and more.

Excluding CovidSafe, HealthCube is also working to distribute oxygen cylinders and concentrators with an initiative they named OxygenForIndia. As a part of this initiative, HealthCube has been able to raise funds to buy 2,500 cylinders along with concentrators.

The Doctor stated that a while back, one of his colleagues was in need of oxygen and was not being able to acquire it. The effort & rush to arrange for oxygen for him made him realise that this will be a major concern for the people of India.

Dr. Ramanan has said that HealthCube is presently working on its B2C product. It is developing a portable and a cost effective version of CovidSafe for to ensure home monitoring of patients.
