There are a ton of articles/videos out there that tell you to put down the coffee and pick up less caffeinated beverages like herbal teas. While we agree that cutting down on caffeine is important, but one cannot deny that sometimes nothing sounds better in the morning than a warm cosy cup of joy.
With that said, while you’re enjoying your coffee; take a moment to think about what you’re adding to it. There are a lot of coffee creamers that taste phenomenal & elevate your coffee to another level, but do not let them fool you into thinking they’re healthy just because they claim to be low-fat or sugar-free. Coffee creamers still contain a ton of trans-fats, sugars, and additives.
Fortunately, we have got you covered with some healthier alternatives which are more natural and less harmful for you:

Coconut Milk -

Coconut is rich in iron & calcium and is obviously lactose-free. The milk from coconut provides the same kind of creaminess that a commercial coffee cream does without all of the added artificial ingredients which your body absolutely does not need. Coconut milk is really easy to make yourself at home, with just 2 two ingredients! (Or can be bought at the store.) Just make sure to go for the product with the least amount of added ingredients to it. Ideally, go for the one with just water and coconut.

Honey -

Referring to coconut milk, if you mix honey & coconut milk together, it will give your coffee a sweet kick you may need. 1 tablespoon of honey has 17 grams of carbs (all of which come from sugar.) Honey consists of glucose & fructose. Glucose is easily burned by the body, and fructose is used by the body when it needs to. Don’t worry about the 17 grams of sugar as these are natural sugars, all of which will be better for you if compared to normal sugar. Normal sugar is considered to have disaccharides, which are complex sugars. Complex sugars don’t get broken down by the body as fast. Depending on how you like your coffee, you may not even need the 17 grams of sugar. Also, addition of the natural sugars in honey helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
Almond Milk -

Almond milk is a delicious, nutty option to the sugary coffee creamers. 1 cup of almond milk has 100% of all the B-12 you require and 20% of your vitamin A and recommendations. You might be amazed at how easy and cost efficient it is to make homemade almond milk (again, with just 2 ingredients!), but you can buy it in the store too, and it is not too expensive. If you would like to, try vanilla/chocolate flavoured for some taste, but keep in mind it will having added sugars in the flavoured ones.
These were some really simple but delicious alternatives to your regular sugary coffee creamers. Coffee with creamers is one of my guilty pleasures, but it is not good to be consumed on a daily basis. When I came to know about these healthier alternatives, it changed the coffee game for me. I no longer had to feel guilty for drinking my mug of coffee every day.
I hope you use these alternatives, and like them. These won’t disappoint. Do come back for more!
