December is quickly approaching, and this is one of the best times of the year to take a vacation and go explore new places. If you want to take a trip and are confused as to where to go, I’ve got you covered, as I’m about to tell you 5 of the best places to visit in India during December. These are mesmerizing, stunning and will make you fall in the love with them.

Ooty –

This place is famous among tourists, especially in the holidays. Famous to be one of the most popular tourist spots in South India, it is known for its coffee and tea plantations. The weather here is pleasant, but can also drop to as low as 9 degrees. The lakes and parks here are abundant and lovely. The Ooty Lake and the deer park are particularly enjoyable experiences. The views from the various hilltops and from the Ooty Toy Train are simply stunning. These views alone make the trip to this town completely worth it.

Coorg –

Another beautiful place in South India, Coorg is known for its misty setting and wavering landscape, there’s no better time to visit Coorg other than winters. Coorg has a very touristy atmosphere, but is still peaceful at the same time. The waterfalls here are compelling, so are the food and the forests. The Tamara festival is something you will not want to miss.

Kasol –

Kasol is the sheer definition of beauty, which is one of the reasons why it is famous for being an attraction all over the world. Kasol is a hamlet located on the banks of the river Parvati in Himachal Pradesh. Kasol is surrounded by the Himalayan Mountains. The most famous trek here is the Kheerganga trek. The place is also known for its laid back and relaxed atmosphere, where you can find a cozy spot in a café, and sip on a hot mug of coffee while being surrounded by the snow clad peaks. There is no better time to visit Kasol than in December. No place on earth looks better than Kasol in winters.

Kutch –

popularly known as the White Desert, this patch in the Thar Desert is unique and absolutely stunning. December is the best time to visit the Rann of Kutch as the entire region is covered in rain, and this is the winter is dry after the monsoon has covered the area in water. The whiteness of the desert sand is mystifying and is a one of a kind sight. You won’t see it anywhere else. The Rann Utsav in December is one you wouldn’t want to miss out on, as everyone camps out in the sand and there are folk performances every night along with night safaris full of adventure!

Jodhpur –

A popular location for tourists national and international, it is also known as the Blue City, as many of the buildings here are painted in vivid shades of blue. This is an ancient city with a ton of attractions. Some of the most famous places to visit in Jodhpur are the Mehrangarh Fort and the Umaid Bhawan Palace. This city is also located in the Thar Desert. You can also visit the Jaswant Thada, which is a beautiful memorial, and the Jaswant Government Museum.

These were some of my favorite places in India which I would love to visit, especially in December. December is easily one of my favorite times of the year, as I love winters and visiting such places in the winters just makes it better. I hope you enjoyed this article, and gave you some ideas about potential places you could visit!
